People haven't been very nice on Melissa's totsite lately, as you might be aware of. I just wish people wouldn't do it anonymously. If they have something to say, anonymous comments just make them look like a mean coward, especially when it's not something nice. If they need to get something across to her, an email, phone call or something private is much better. Heck, talking to me would work too if that works for people... but whatever. We will just have to keep more things to ourselves I guess. Deal with our issues in private, rather than feeling the wraith of anonymous cowards.
Sure we have our good days and bad with our newborn, but overall there has been a lot of outside interference. There has not been enough real support for our ideals though. We try to keep people involved, but when they have a different opinion that goes against our core beliefs, it just adds unnecessary stress. No, we will never put a plastic diaper on Selina. We will never feed her formula until a doctor says so, and there are no other options (there have still been options, and she's gaining weight just fine now). We will use reusable wipes or hopefully at least biodegradable ones. We will not put unnecessary chemicals onto or into her, and we will not feed her rice cereal and stuff like that. We will not wake her up to feed her, and will not let people we do not trust hold her. She is our responsibility, and we are of course still learning. We may not believe in a god, but we do believe in doing unto others as you would have them do unto you. Compared to most people we know, we are not wasteful people, and we will teach our daughter to be a good person... after all, there are enough lazy, wasteful, mean people in this world.
Now if you don't mind, I am going back to constantly learning and fixing things for others. 'cuz that's just what I do...
