I haven't changed what was written here in years - so it was about due time when I
changed this in April, 2006, and now again in February, 2008. I'm using some of the
stuff I wrote before, but I've
updated the content and changed the style a little bit to reflect how I've grown over
the years...
If you have never met me, then "Hello. My name is Adam Malejko, how are you?". This is
my corner of the web which I use and abuse as I please. The web is a part of life for
a lot of people in the world these days and that's fairly true for myself. I still know
how to live without it, but I definitely enjoy the information and entertainment that I
find on it and use almost every day.
The web is of course a commercial place, with a significant amount of commerce being
done over the 'net every day. The web is for everyone now (okay not my grandma,
but whatever) and it's where things are at. I've been on the web since
everything was still just beeps, clicks and buzzes with modems and text. There were
no pictures, advertisements, fancy animations, or secure sites. The roots are still here,
and I still use cryptic things like ftp, nntp, and telnet to git 'er done.
I could put pictures of myself on here, but Goofy seems to fit my personality better than
any jpeg image could; or perhaps a combination of Goofy and Batman would be more appropriate?
I'd put a charicature up, but I don't have one anymore so I won't.
Maybe I'll get another one done and put it up for amusement... Regardless, there's pictures
in my pics section - okay, so the pictures section is way
out of date and I still haven't finished developing something exciting and new. I do have pictures
online here and WWE wrasslin' is always fun.
I still enjoy learning
about the things I'm interested in, along with keeping my mind open to explore new ideas in order to understand more of
this crazy world that we live in.
I play computer games when I have time, but am currently seeking new games to enjoy. I was pretty addicted to several games before, but have recently kicked the habits and hardly have time at all to play games. When I get the chance I do try and fire up my PS2, as the PS3 and other consoles just haven't really shown me anything new that I need to spend money on. I'm playin God of War lately, and like playing cooperative games with my wife. Otherwise, sometimes I'll throw in a DDR game and enjoy some music while getting a bit of exercise. Laugh all you want, but I know who I am and I know what I like.
For sports, I used to be in to a lot more, but now I'm a spectator of many. I used to play for the Calgary Irish rugby club, but gave that up due to increasing injuries. I also enjoy Ultimate Frisbee and running still - when I get the chance. I played a bit of slowpitch, and I'm always open to new experiences... maybe I'll even get that freefall in someday?!
